Photos Tell A Story....
It was Diwali here recently( if you dont know what diwali is, well, its apparently a festival where people burn money in different ways and watch stupid TV programs). So if you check out my last year's diwali post you will understand that I loathe this so called festival...
There is a documentary series called PLANET EARTH, a BBC production. I started watching it recently and that show gave me a whole new perspective of our planet... The sheer beauty of it is absolutely mindboggling... Here are a few snapshots of certain pristine sequences in the show..
Now this is just to give you a rough idea of the show and of the marvel that our planet is....
On the other hand, i took a few photos on my phone during diwali....
What a contrast... these pics were taken in just one street... the same happens throughout the nation on this particular day... jus think about the damage we are causing.... all i am asking you right now is to take a moment and think about our planet's fragile nature before doing anything stupid.........

nice thot...
have been a prolific crackerer myself..
now i'm too old and too sane and too distant to try it..
lighting a candle or agal vizhakku seems to be much better option...
BTW am a big fan of planet earth too
It really is a fantastic show, can't wait to watch it! Did the one you watch have David Attenborough narrating, or Sigourney Weaver? I think Attenborough is much better, trained naturalist and all that.
Chill man, Deepavali is more than these chaps making noise - though here in the US, I really wouldn't mind a few crackers - I wish they'd do something about Bhogi instead. Absolutely senseless burning of stuff, that festival.
very painful to look at the photographs taken by you especially after looking the first few pics...
I am sure many will be aware about the damage we are causing ...lets hope for he best..
hey, i kno whatcha talkn abt wen u say dat our planet's beautiful...
Nice snpas....pictures tells thousand words!!
very true......:)
A good green thought indeed! I believe that you are on the right lines... It's just that these festivals are intended at more than the crackers and we need to understand that! kudos! keep it flowing!
